Non-Potable water is defined in the state of Oklahoma as ANY well or water supply source that has not been permitted by Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ). Non-potable water has not been tested for chemicals to ensure the level of safety for drinking. Therefore, these non-potable water sources cannot be connected to the Reed Water network.

A residence cannot be connected to a well and a Reed network, unless permitted.

Wells with pitless adapters cannot be connected to a Reed network.

ODEQ does not allow for submersible trough valves to connect to stock tanks. At times, these can create a backflow which can imbue the Reed network with unwanted chemicals that may reside within the stock tank.

A domestic well is non-potable water, UNLESS it has a DEQ permit.

To have connection between potable and non-potable water, it is required to have at leasta 6 inch air gap between the lines, a reduced pressure zone, or a backflow preventer.

Any violations shall recieve a verbal warning on the first violation, a written warning for the second violation, and then removal from the water system with the third violation.
